Who Have Joined SDCERS Who Is Eligible?

• If you are represented by Local 127 and were hired between July 20, 2012 and July 9, 2021, you were unlawfully put into the SPSP-H retirement plan.

• In the past six months, you received communications from the City about joining the City’s defined benefits retirement plan, SDCERS.

Members of AFSCME Local 127 have ratified a 3-year contract with the City of Coronado. More than 90% voted in favor of ratifying the tentative agreement.

     AFSCME Local 127 has been active recently. In the past week, Local 127 attended the SDICLC Golf Tournament, the SDICLC Annual Dinner 2022, and Stormwater’s “All Hands” luncheon. While enjoying ourselves, AFSCME Local 127 also used these opportunities to strengthen our relationships with other labor organizations, various departments of San Diego, councilmembers, and Mayor Gloria.

Our negotiations with the City of San Diego are approaching quickly. We expect to begin negotiations with the City of San Diego until January 2023. However, our non-economic proposals are due by the beginning of November 2022, and our economic proposals are due by the beginning of December 2022

          Last week, the Leaders and Delegates of AFSCME Local 127 attended the AFSCME 45th Biennial Convention in Philadelphia!

AFSCME Local 127 recently held a new employee orientation.
